We're currently recruiting for Emergency Call Handlers in Chelmsford. Our client wants additional people to join their team on a temporary basis for five months, starting 9th November.
Role: Emergency Call Handler
Contract: Temporary for 5 months
Hours: Shift Patterns to be confirmed; office is open 24/7 so we do need candidates who can commit to full time hours across days/nights and weekends with full flexibility
Pay: £10.09 per hour basic, increasing to £13.62 and £17.05 for unsociable shifts respectively.
999 call-takers receive emergency calls, prioritising patients to ensure the most appropriate help is arranged, and where necessary give life-saving instructions. The role is varied, also dealing with requests from hospitals, GPs and other healthcare professionals, as well as enquiries from the general public.
Skills & Experience Required:
We need individuals who have a good standard of education to include 3 GCSEs at Grade C or above (including English Language), or equivalent qualifications or experience, and good computer literacy. Some call-centre experience would be an advantage, but not essential. Candidates will need to pass two online assessments and carry out enhanced background checks. You will also need to be immediately available to start work with no prebooked commitments, and have a full UK driving license and access to your own vehicle (due to company location).
