Management Accountant

Central Cambridge

£40,000-£45,000 per annum


A popular Cambridge city centre employer currently require an experienced Management Accountant to join their growing team on a permanent basis.

Initially this role will focus on Cost of Sales and Projects module within the newly implemented ERP system, however it is expected that the role will evolve to focus on all aspects of General Ledger & ERP module based reconciliations.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role will include the following:

Reconciliation of projects module to General Ledger

Assisting with the development of reports to allow users and divisional finance to reconcile cost of sales

Talking to business users and explaining in non-financial terms the position of their project

Processing of Project Adjustments

Project and General Ledger Journals

Reviewing Aged Disbursements

Processing the month end WIP and project GRNI journals

Managing the reallocation and update of projects

Support the team in query resolution and posting correcting journals if required

Supporting the Finance Manager as required


This client is looking for an experienced and confident individual, either ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified, or qualified by experience.  Experience using MS Dynamics would be advantageous, however any ERP system experience will be considered.

Candidates must have excellent communication skills and be confident in dealing with all levels of management - this role will require considerable contact with Director level staff.

This client is also specifically looking for the following experience, skills and attributes:

Strong Excel skills (VLookups / SUMIF / Pivot tables)

Solid double entry and investigation skills

Strong communication skills / ability to work well with others and explain transactions, liaising with staff at all levels across the organisation both finance and non-finance users

Strong people & task management skills

Experience of working in a busy accounts department

Familiarity with month-end routines and strict deadlines
