Reed Education are currently working with a Secondary School based in the heart of Cardiff. They are looking to add a passionate Teacher of Mathematics to start January 2021 to cover a 12-month maternity contract.
An excellent opportunity for an outstanding, ambitious and committed teacher to join this thriving, vibrant school. This opportunity will also involve tutoring small groups of GCSE pupils.
About the school...
The school fully embraces their education ethos of supporting and challenging every pupil to achieve their full potential by nurturing talent and aspirations through their school life. Estyn have rated pupil behaviour as ‘exemplary’’ and note the ‘caring and inclusive ethos’ as a hallmark of teacher and learning experience within the school. The school is an easy drive from Merthyr, Cardiff, Newport, Swansea and Caerphilly and can be accessed within 45 minutes from all of these regions.
The role is to teach Maths up to Key Stage 4 pupils within the mainstream classes including tutoring small groups of GCSE pupils who need additional support to achieve their desired results, as well as highly gifted and talented individuals. A highlight is the Mathematics Department enjoys some of the schools highest results at GCSE and A Level.
This post is to start January 2021 and is a 12-month fixed term contract, with potential to be taken on permanently.
The successful Teacher will have...
• PGCE or equivalent with QTS and first or second class degree in a relevant subject;
• Relevant classroom practice or experience;
• Effective class management with pupils at all levels;
• Energy, enthusiasm and creativity;
• Commitment to inclusion
