A primary school in Milton Keynes has an exciting opportunity for an SEN teaching assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with ADHD and Autistic traits.
The pupil you will be working with has an Educational Healthcare Plan (EHCP) to support with progression. The child is currently working at a lower ability so would need to be engaged within each lesson. Due to frustrations with learning, the pupil can also have challenging behaviour so it is essential you are a resilient individual with a differentiated and calm approach.
As the successful teaching assistant, you will have knowledge on the KS2 curriculum and ideally be MAPA or Team Teach trained, as well as have an understanding of de-escalation.
The school is looking for a committed individual who can develop the abilities, socials skills and understanding of the pupil. You will be able to confidently build rapport, manage triggers and behaviour and reduce levels of unauthorised absence.
You will benefit from competitive rates of pay, a challenging yet rewarding role, an extremely supportive senior leadership team and regular CPD to support your progression.
This role is a full time role working Monday- Friday 8.30am- 3.30pm term time only and is subject to a clear enhanced DBS and satisfactory references.
