Reed Education Cardiff is currently recruiting for an outstanding teacher of Religious Studies for a 12 month fixed term contract in a mixed 11-18 secondary school based on the outskirts of Cardiff, to start January 2021. The school is located North of Cardiff, with favourable transport links and on-site parking is available.


The school is known for its warm and welcoming atmosphere with a supportive approach, expectations are high but work loads of all staff are carefully considered by the Senior Leadership Team. Results at GCSE and in the Sixth Form are significantly above national averages and the School was graded Excellent with Outstanding Leadership & Management in its most recent Estyn inspection. The school are proud of their innovative and forward thinking learning culture and promote partnerships which enable them to provide a wide range of opportunities for career development.


This post is ideally suited for an NQT or experienced teacher with a passion for Religious Studies.


To be considered for the role, you will be/will have:

  • A qualified teacher (QTS status);
  • A good honours degree or equivalent in Religious Studies or another Humanities related subject;
  • Experience of delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences up to KS4 (KS5 desirable);
  • A sincere desire to see all pupils improve and strategies to ensure positive attainment;
  • Effective class management with pupils at all levels;
  • Tenacious attitude with a devotion to self-improvement;
  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
