Our client is an international logistics, shipping and property group of companies with head office in the city of London.
They are looking to recruit an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to work as part of a busy accounts team.
During this Covid period the work is partly office based and partly working from home.
Transport is classed as an essential service.
We are seeking an organised self starter prepared to use their own initiative and work in a fast paced environment. Experience of Bankline or similar major bank payment system would be beneficial, as would knowledge of VAT from a purchasing perspective.
Duties of the role will be varied, including:
Initiating/double checking international currency transfers and BACS on a daily basis.
Maintaining supplier database/transfer details under internal controls.
Liaising with suppliers on agreed payments profiles and producing payment forecasts for management .
Help prepare bank reconciliations
Help prepare daily and weekly cash reports.
Help with processing ship hire and fuel payments and invoicing on to third parties.
